I started Ashigaru Defense because of the “tactical” industry and the information that was presented to the average citizen.  School after school teaching people techniques based solely around the idea that someone else would clean up the mess left behind.  Team based tactics from former LEO and Military tells the average citizen nothing of how to handle themselves when its just them at 3 AM.  That’s what separates Ashigaru Defense from the other schools, we don’t follow the dogma in fact we set about to destroy it.  Those who have served in the military or LE, are not forced into putting thought and effort into the scenarios in which one might find themselves alone with out backup or a teammate to cover them. Here at Ashigaru Defense, we train our students to confront the scenarios in which you will find yourself alone, with no one to come to your aid in a self defense fight for your life.

My training and background comes from my friend Sonny Puzikas of Forward Training Concepts, the O.G. of training John Farnam, Paul Markel of Student of the Gun, Tactical Response, and Thunder Ranch. These experiences guide my teaching methodology to aid in shaping my curriculum.  I teach regular people how to defend themselves when all the “professionals” are miles away.
