This 2-day class starts off with the Land Nav Primer seminar on Day 1. On day 2, we will spend the day in the woods. We will go over more than just "Land Nav," and it isn't an orienteering class. We will go over the standard Land Navigation topics, you'll learn maps (more than just topos) , and you'll learn to use a compass and pace count. We're also going to delve into GPS technology.
On Day 2, in the woods, we're going to put all of that into practice. We have a full day of navigation exercises to run through using all of the techniques and tools we learned on day 1.
Students will be provided a complete set of map tools and a handout to keep. Loaner Compass's are available. A few GPS units are available to borrow as well.
This class will set you up perfectly for Day 3 Navigation.
