“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” ~Jack Canfield When something profoundly destructive hits one’s home, it’s not the expensive decor and rare antique furniture compelling all who see it to gawk in admiration that makes it a life-saving shelter. It’s the unseen, under-the-surface solidity of the foundation and frame, the quality of materials, and good engineering- that is what determines if the house still stands. Violence can be profoundly destructive. To possess the ability to come out on the other side relatively unscathed requires a commitment that is deeper than collecting techniques, possessing weapons, and being aggressive and muscular. It requires true mastery of self. It is said, “Conquer yourself, and you’ll become unconquerable.” What’s the meaning of conquering, and mastering SELF? Fear. That is THE elephant in the room. It’s one of the two foundational emotions of human existence, the one side of the “Ying/Yang” equation that guides our thinking, problem-solving, and actions. Fear is misunderstood, misinterpreted, and often is a source of shame. And for the most part, it is due to our fear to take a look at the reasons for our… fears. “We fear what we don’t know”…. and…. “you don’t know what you don’t know.” To learn what’s beyond ones individual horizon of “I know” is a journey most won’t have courage to take. This unique five-day class is about starting that journey. Through carefully designed exercises, drills and sequences, we will start on the path of finding, exposing, and rationalizing our fears. Fear of failure, fear of pain, fear of committing a mistake, fear of losing, and fear of truth. By immersing in a very personal journey for the duration of the class, you’ll perform and fail in numerous realms, finding your points of giving up and those of actual failure. That will take you deep into examining the objective reasons of the “why” you do fear. The answers will be very surprising and will lead to transformational self-reflection to restructure one’s learning and training priorities. Discomfort, pain, exhaustion, surprise elements, perceptions of danger and risk, the weight of unacceptable consequences, and fatigue that is physical, mental, and emotional- all that and more will be utilized in learning/training progressions to achieve stated goals. This isn’t the class for some exceptional “super-humans.” This is a class that may lead one closer to becoming a normal human functioning closer to his inherent potential.
