Diversity-Equity-Inclusion applied to a clinch. Clinch is not unlike toilet paper. It’s inconspicuous and irrelevant while there’s no action on the ceramic throne in the bathroom. But once that is in the game- likelihood of you having to embrace said paper is very high. Once the fists start flying- finding yourself in some form of a clinch is just as likely. Once in the clinch predicament, most folks get folded into very rigid and predictable mode of operating- it becomes positional power wrestling with occasional attempt of a knee to the groin of the opponent. The fact is, that presence of weapons- edged or firearms- is above average possibility in such an event. And if one is carrying such tools- that possibility becomes certainty. That introduces additional factors into the equation- accessing and utilizing those tools in a manner that is both morally and legally justifiable, as well as preventing the opponent from being able to access and utilize his weapons, or those that he may attempt to appropriate from you. DEI is what you think it is. And it works. Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. Yes, indeed. DEI properly applied makes everything better. DEI is ability to incorporate other forms of work within a clinch, removing the oppressive and limiting characteristics of singularity of effort. That includes striking, what could be referred to as shredding, structural manipulations, workspace management and more. One has to develop attributes and multi disciplinary skills to be able to seamlessly flow from one mode of work to another. This class is a deep dive into the world of possibilities available within a clinch. In a clinch you must DEI, or you may DIE… “DEI is the way” is a 2 day (16 hours) course, which includes live fire segments. Day 1 (9 hours) Geometry and structure of the clinch Physical attributes Posture and position Principle of Giving UP- give something to gain more. Strikes in a clinch Stickiness and flow Takedowns Day 2 (7 hours) Ground clinch fundamentals Weapon access Weapon retention Shooting in a clinch Training methodology Class is high intensity with an above average amount of physical contact. Being DEI class- there are no pre-requisites, but having at least some familiarity within combatives and firearms realms prior to DEI class is highly recommended.
