Principles of deception: understanding the predators, the ambush and the chaos. There are two ways one can fight- asymmetric or stupid. This tenet of unconventional/asymmetric warfare is well understood and utilized by human predators outside of warfare and battlefields. In order to not be an easy prey- we should study and understand the principles of deception and ambush, as well as “dirty tricks” of the craft. This class is designed to expose students to and impart knowledge from the “dark side”- criminal elements, street fighting cultures and oppressive entities of the state. Psychology, scouting, grooming, setup and execution elements will be explained, demonstrated and practiced, in order to develop abilities to prevail in such circumstances. The importance of gaining skills of deceptive actions in the context of dealing with violent confrontations is profound. Participants will explore principles of distraction, skills of managing visual fields, elimination of telegraphing of their actions, as well as deeper dimensions of detachment and movement without intent. It is a 2 day (16 hours) class: Day 1 (9 hours) Understanding predatory mindset. Principles of ambush. Grooming and setup. Weapons deployment. Situational literacy vs awareness. Managing distance and workspace. Decision making, initial contact. A2/AD in the context of predatory assault. Event/non-event dissection. Day 2 (7 hours) Output diversity upon contact. Structure and takedowns. Clinch realm. Impactology. Final solutions. Utilizing well structured drills and scenarios, participants will explore variables and options, as well as practice their responses to sudden escalation in various situations. Class includes live fire segments, as well as significant physical contact drills.
