Until now, the CHUPACABRA knife system has only been taught within DBMA (Dog Brothers Martial Arts) the Dog Brothers Tribe, and to US Special Forces, the Special Mission Team of King Adbullah of Jordan and the Jordanian Special Forces. It is a bladed martial system for adults in martial life. Strong moral compass and ability to be guided by practicality and objective necessity are needed. Punong Guro Marc “Crafty Dog” Denny and DBMA are best known to public for their full contact stick fighting endeavors, rooted in unique mix of various martial methodologies, with high pressure, full contact mutually agreed combat matches reflecting the motto “Higher consciousness through harder contact”. What is less known and less public is the depth of studies of the bladed realm of violence. This very rare opportunity to immerse into specifics and unique training methodology of the Chupacabra knife system with Marc Denny will begin with, “What is the problem to be solved?” Dog Brothers Martial Arts CHUPACABRA Knife System is not a knife dueling system. Rather it looks to solve the following problems using an EDC size knife, primarily in Ice Pick Grip. “Malevolent Mongo”: MM is younger, bigger, stronger, fitter, meaner, and crazier than we are. On a vsiceral level, knife or no knife, we may well be quite afraid of him but he is unaware of or not impressed with our EDC 3″ blade and we have to get past him/through him/ or finish him anyway. “A Cranky Crowd of Scurrilous Scum”: Think of an Antifa-BLM riot and you will have the gist of a CCSS– a mix of pant-hooting fools providing distraction and cover for those of worse intentions looking to ambush you from the side or behind if/when opportunity presents itself. “A Pack of Jackals”: A pack-like team looking to bring you down. To solve these problems we want to have: High Percentage Draw Strokes: Weapon Access before and/or after things go hands on. A “Blitz Modality” to go at someone who scares the bejeezus out of us; A “Porcupine Modality” to “Assert our Reactionary Gap” against one or many; Modalities for moving through the battle space, including direction changes; Interface with Firearms– when the gun goes click instead of bang, how to bring the knife to bear for the immediate problem, and then get the gun back in action without having to put the knife away first. This is high intensity and dense in substance 2 day class, requiring focus, attentiveness.
